Flattened Rice Snack (Poha Papad)

Poha Papad is a snack I find myself eating at midnight. It tastes great with tea and to take to work in a a zip lock bag. It's also a quick and easy snack to make if you have guests. The only caveat is that the ingredients will mainly be found at an Indian store. However, it's absolutely delicious and quick to make.

Ingredients:

1 bag of Uncooked Nylon Flattened Indian Rice  (Nylon Poha)

1 pack of papad (refrigerator aisle)

2 tsp vegetable/corn/olive oil/coconut oil (to bind not for frying)
Seasonings:
2 tsp red chili powder
2 tsp salt

Instructions:

1. Cook the Nylon Rice

Stove-Top Option:

In a large cooking pot, cook the Nylon rice for 15-25 minutes, continue stirring to avoid burning.

Oven option:

Set oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and place Nylon Rice in an aluminum container for 10 minutes.

2. Heat the papad by flipping the dough on top of a stove top with tongs. (video instruction)

3. Break up the papad and mix with rice. Add oil and seasonings, mix well by hand.
